Inevitably, as the seasons change, fashion brings us new trends that add new pieces to our closets. But, instead of buying it all brand new, secondhand offers a sustainable and fun way to stay up to fashion date—yes, even when it comes to designer clothes, shoes and accessories. We teamed up with luxury fashion resaler Mine & Yours to round up the top trends from current runways, styled secondhand. —Vita Daily
Trend Alert: Pink
“Whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed.” Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Picciolo was thinking pink this year, covering the collection, runway and walls in the same colour! Bonus: this particular shade of bright, cheerful fuchsia is set to become an official Pantone hue this fall.
Trend Alert: Tulle
Tulle typically sets foot on spring/summer runways, and this year was no different. It was exciting to see the material flourish for fall, though. Dior used the fabric in black, with romantic silhouettes, while Off-White’s collection featured tiered tulle in maxi lengths.
Trend Alert: Tweed
Tweed, a textile we know to be woven deep into Chanel’s history, was the star of FW22. This year, creative director Virginie Viard based an entire collection on the material! We also saw tweed hit the runways of Louis Vuitton and Jason Wu.
Trend Alert: Suits
Suit up: this trend means business! Saint Laurent led the way this season with impeccably tailored suit sets and blazer dresses. A versatile trend that you can dress up or down through any season!
Trend Alert: Ties
Someone call Avril Lavigne: ties are coming back! Louis Vuitton hit the runway in a collection capturing youth, featuring loose, unexpected silhouettes, mismatched styles and a “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude. A notable mention is the comeback of ties in casual dressing; they’re not just for the office anymore!
