Falafel, hummus, shakshuka—what’s not to love about Israeli food? On May 15, you can get a chance to taste these and other cultural delicacies to your heart’s delight at an outdoor Sunday street party being held at the Jewish Community Centre in Vancouver.
The Festival of Israeli Culture, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., is a one-day celebration of music, dance, art, and—of course—food! Enjoy live music, dance-group performances and an art fair while feasting on authentic falafel, hummus and baba ghanoush amid a wider variety of eats from local food trucks and restaurants.
With indoor and outdoor kids activities like mini-golf, a scavenger hunt and a Muppets performance, plus activities for Hebrew speakers including a film screening and lecture, this event is shaping up to be a highlight in Vancouver’s family and cultural calendar—Israeli or otherwise. —Vita Daily
