10 Favourite Refillable Beauty Products

May 31, 2022

Years ago, refillable beauty products were a rare occurrence, reserved for small mom and pop farmers market-scale brands. While refillable beauty is not a new concept, 2022 seems to be the year more major brands are taking notice and offering refills for their best selling products. Here are some of our newest fave refillable products available. —Vicki Duong

fenty beauty. New mama Rhianna knows a good lipstick is a quintessential part of any beauty lover’s collection. One of her brand’s newest offers is a semi-matte refillable lipstick ($25) that allows you to pick out your new signature shade without the bulk of buying a new case ($15) every time you buy a new shade. Our fave shade? The MVP, a blue-red that helps aid in the appearance of white teeth.

grown alchemist. Get your body cleansed without sacrificing the well-being of the planet with the Grown Alchemist body cleanser refills ($45). It leaves a scent blend of bergamot, willow bark and chamomile while a combination of oils help cleanse and balance your skin without stripping the natural moisture-barrier.

amika. Whether you’re an avid hair-washer, have long tresses or sharing your hair care products with the entire household, refill your shampoo and conditioner easily without sacrificing quality with Amika. The brand offers shampoo and conditioner refills for their Kure repairing line, Bust Your Brass blonde line, Normcore hydrating line and 3D volumizing line (starting at $45).

danessa myricks. If there’s one thing that MUA Danessa Myricks knows, it’s good skin. Her newest complexion offering is a skincare-hybrid foundation formulated to look like your skin, but better. The Yummy Skin Serum Foundation ($46) is available in an extensive skin tone range while the middle cartridge ($32) can be refilled for a fraction of the cost while minimizing package waste.

tata harper. Consider your thirsty skin quenched whenever you reach for the Water-Lock Moisturizer ($91) by Tata Harper. This certified-clean at Sephora moisturizer is ultra-lightweight and silicone-free making it ideal for a variety of skin types. Being planet-minded, all ingredients are derived from natural sources while the entire component is recyclable and refillable ($83 for refill)

the unscented company. I think it’s safe to say that we are all washing our hands more regularly and thoroughly than ever before. With going through hand-soap so quickly, having a refill option has made keeping hands clean a breeze. We’ve been loving the hand soap ($7) from The Unscented Company that is, as the name suggests, fragrance-free, and ideal for even sensitive skin types. Plus the 2L refill pouch ($22) ensures that we’re always fully stocked!

charlotte tilbury. Leave it to Charlotte to create kits for glam on the go. Her new Quick & Easy Instant 5 Minute Looks ($95) feature three travel size bullets; an eye wand, a lip and cheek wand and a highlight wand. Housed in a chic carrying case, complete with a large mirror, each of the wands can be refilled with a variety of shades to allow you to customize your look.

dermalogica. Not all exfoliants are good for the planet and for your skin, but fret not, Dermalogica is here to check all of your boxes. Not only is their Daily Microfoliant ($87) great for reducing the appearance of uneven skin tone and hyper-pigmenatation, but the refill pouch ($74) aids in the reduction of 92% of plastic when you repurchase.

rose inc. What’s the best way to achieve that TikTok clean girl makeup aesthetic? Using buildable and multi-use products, like the cream blush ($40) from Rose INC, a brand by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. We love this squalane-infused blush that can be worn on the cheeks, lips or eyes for a monochromatic look. The best part? Every shade is available in refills ($24) so you can save a bit of dough while saving the planet, one purchase at a time.

isle of paradise. Get your glow on with this refill kit ($40) from Isle of Paradise. This kit comes with a tan mister and refill pouch of their best-selling Self-Tanning Water. Unlike a lot of their competitors, not only does the formula offer a natural looking bronze finish, but it’s enriched with avocado oil and chia seeds to condition your skin while supporting the skin barrier function.
