You love the food (those noods!), and now you can meet the real Lunch Lady that inspired one of Vancouver’s fave restaurants.
Lunch Lady Vancouver is excited to welcome the woman who started it all, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh, to Canada! This summer, Mrs. Thanh finally has the opportunity to visit her first-ever North American location since the pandemic started and serve Vancouverites with the truest Lunch Lady experience they’ve always hoped for.
In celebration of Lunch Lady Vancouver’s two-year anniversary, Mrs. Thanh and chef Benedict Lim have designed a special six-course dinner experience that will only be available on their anniversary weekend. Between July 1 and July 3, foodies will have the opportunity to taste The Lunch Lady’s interpretation of the great, late Anthony Bourdain’s career through Mrs. Thanh’s cooking. Guests can purchase their tickets to this dinner event via OpenTable, and are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
Apart from this event, Mrs. Thanh will also actively assist the team and will be on site every weekday. For anyone looking for a more tangible souvenir, any Vancouverite will also have the chance to purchase her recipe book at the restaurant, which is something she does at her original stall in Vietnam.
