When it comes to interior design, we are suckers for that Scandi minimalist aesthetic—pale woods, neutral colours and simple, functional furniture that’s easy to put together. Our favourite spot to indulge is Gastown store Örling & Wu, which has now opened a second branch at 6th and Fir. What’s different? The new store is targeted at locals, not tourists, which means more kitchenware, larger pieces like shelving from String Furniture and beautiful basis such as towels from Ikeuchi. The small (660 square feet) but perfectly formed location also has brands that are currently available at its Gastown branch, including Pappelina Rugs, Cloud7 Fine Pet Accessories, Sandberg Wallpaper and Fermob Outdoor Furniture. —Aileen Lalor
