Now that in-person events are back in swing (in full force), we’ve touched base with the dressing experts at Banana Republic to find out what to wear to every festive gathering—from elegant evening galas to office bashes to family dinners to frosty outdoor get-togethers—in our calendars!
This year, holiday traverses through mystical worlds and holiday fantasy, with new @bananarepublic offerings inspired by styles rooted in fine fabrics and silhouettes, elegant occasion dressing and tailoring, plush outerwear, luxe fabrications, cold-weather gear and covetable layering pieces. Think: juxtaposed textures featuring leather, suede, cashmere everything and wool outerwear. Sequins, of course, as well as va-va-velvet, faux fur and sherpa. Volume and exaggerated proportions are key, and big cosy textures and event-ready styles will have you feeling holly jolly no matter the festive dress code.
Key colours for feelin’ festive vibes are cream, ivory and camel, with pops of pink and red, as well as navy and grey popped with blue and yellow. We’re also loving, this season, grey and black fits popped with purple and lavender.
