I am just as amazed as you are that another month has come and gone and that we’re getting closer and closer to the holidays. While time seems to be flying by, I still had the opportunity to add some new faves to my beauty rotation. Below are some of my faves I discovered in October. —Vicki Duong
asklepios garden. When looking for new winter rituals, taking time to nourish my skin has become essential to my routine. Asklepios Garden’s Rose Euphoria Glow Body Oil ($119) adds aromatherapy to your relaxation while a blend of oils promote your healthiest skin yet. Ingredients like olive squalane acts as a natural emollient to soften and soothe your skin while argan oil softens dry patches. Best of all, the weighted glass bottle looks great on any countertop.
om organics. I don’t know about the rest of you, but fall fatigue is real. After a long day I love to soak in the tub and the Om Organics Vanilla Moon Soothing Bath Soak ($30) not only puts me in the right mindset, but the blend of mineral-rich clay, moisturising humectants and nourishing oils also leaves skin feeling fresh and ultra-soft. Plus, it fills your bathroom with the sweet scent of coconut and vanilla.
dermalogica. While the weather outside has taken a sharp turn into brisk and dry, it doesn’t mean we can’t combat the effects on our skin. Refresh your pores with the Antioxidant Hydramist ($63) from Dermalogica, a toning formula boasting high-quality ingredients that work together to create a barrier on your skin’s surface.
stila. When it comes to eye makeup, lately a one-and-done is a go-to not only for the ease but impact. New from Stila, the Stay All Day Artistix Graphic Liner ($29) delivers intense colour payoff without transferring. It applies creamy and can be smudged out like an eyeshadow or left to set for a smudge-proof finish. My fave shades are the royal purple, Mambo and the versatile olive green, Hula.
ellie bianca. With snow in the air, my skin has been extra dry and sensitive so using a deeply nourishing and hydrating body lotion is high on my list of must-do. The Ellie Bianca hand and body lotion ($25) is formulated with anti-itch properties to avoid scaly skin this winter. We also love that the brand is female-founded and Canadian owned.
revolution. While sunny days might be far and few between, I am not above faking a glowy complexion. My go-to as of late is Revolution’s Bright Light Highlighters ($14) for a natural radiance that applies well on its own, under or over my complexion products. The pinky hues are ideal for mixing a flushed finish that mimics highlighter and blush.
nudestix. A clear balm that transforms to a powder formula on contact, the Blot & Blur ($35) from Nudestix has become a new staple to reduce the look of excess oils while leaving a smooth finish. I love that it can be worn on fresh skin or over makeup without creating a cakey product buildup. Also the convenient stick formula makes it easy as an on-the-go touch-up.
ag hair. When it comes to haircare, AG Care has all your needs covered with their extensive line of refillable and sustainably packaged products. To combat the hat hair I’ve been experiencing, the Tousled Texture Finishing Spray ($28) has been a godsend. This lightweight spray is equal parts texture spray and hair spray that provides hold and instant volume, no additional styling needed!
haus labs by lady gaga. Singing, acting and now a cosmetics brand? Is there anything Lady Gaga cannot do? Her brand, Haus Lab, recently launched a new foundation ($59) and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This medium coverage foundation’s superstar ingredient is fermented arnica, which helps protect your skin from environmental stressors while also targeting redness. What makes this complexion product unique is that the blendable liquid formula applies like a serum making it the ideal canvas for the rest of your makeup.
dermalogica. When it comes to the drastic temperature changes and keeping my skin happy, Dermalogica has everything my skin needs. I just had to include them on my list twice. Their MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque ($85) has become my favourite part of my weekly routine. This mask lives up to its name to visibly brighten and hydrate distressed skin, plus its calming formula works well as an overnight mask.
