Today marks the launch of TheKindest.Store from Becel, an online boutique where people can shop for kind acts and—plot twist—pay in kindness. At The Kindest Store, the currency isn’t money but, rather, the promise to spread kindness by committing to kind acts. Brought to life by Becel and its charitable initiative, Kind Hearts Fund, The Kindest Store will be open online for one day only, Monday, March 20, 2023.
Canadians are known to be kind, but between our rusty social skills post-pandemic and the looming economy, it can be hard to know what to do, or to even have the means to make small acts of kindness possible. Cue The Kindest Store, where you can “shop” for small acts of kindness, like bringing someone breakfast, sending flowers, taking someone to a movie, helping clean a park, making cookies for a neighbour and more. To “pay”, all you have to do is publically commit to your selected act, spreading even more kindness to your network, and Becel will provide them with the means to make it happen.
