10 Fab Festival Fashion Pieces

April 13, 2023

It’s that time of year once again when our minds are focused on showstopping pieces for sunny days and while we may not be jet-setting to Coachella this year that doesn’t mean we’re not inspired for festival fits. Below are some of our fashion picks of what we would pack to see our favourite acts performing in the desert. –Vicki Duong

ba&sh. Pay homage to retro-styles from the 70s with the Maureen dress ($450) from ba&sh. We love the loose-fit paired with long sleeves while the bold print reminds us of Daisy Jones & The Six plus the henley neckline adds visual appeal and accents our favourite necklaces.

aldo shoes. It wouldn’t be a music festival without a good pair of western boots. Our go-to pair has been the cowboy-inspired Nurodeo ($150) in the metallic silver colorway. Classic western stitching and a croc-embossed texture pairs well with your fave dresses or denim and Aldo’s flex technology ensures added comfort to every stride you take.

brixton. We are so happy that co-ord sets are back in style because they really do take all the guesswork out of getting dressed. What says summer more than a linen-blend floral button-up with cropped pants? The Indo top ($80) and wide leg pant ($90) are made for summer weather regardless of if they’re worn together or as separate pieces.

area. Denim and crystals are a classic duo when it comes to sprucing up casual attire. We’ve been lusting after the Area cotton denim miniskirt ($1150) with crystals creating a scalloped hem sure to collect compliments in any crowd. Pair it with a plain white tee for a laidback look or the matching blazer ($1440) for extra sparkle.

sarahbijoux. Selecting jewellery for long summer days is easier said than done. Poor quality jewellery will heat up and tarnish faster with sun exposure, but fret not high quality pieces at a budget-friendly price is possible. The Freshwater pearl necklace ($125) by SarahBijoux stays cool to the touch making it ideal for rising temperatures.

smash & tess. When thinking of musical festival muses there are many celebs that come to mind, one of them being Ashlee Simpson Ross. Recently she channelled her cool girl aesthetic into a collaboration with Vancouver’s Smash & Tess to launch a retro-inspired collection. Perfect for hot days that turn into chill nights, the Disco Duster ($160) boasts dropped shoulders and wide sleeves for an easy-to-slip-on layer.

duer. Nothing says summer fun the same way a jumpsuit does. We love this denim stretch-infused number ($159) from Duer for a modern twist to coveralls. Tailored to cinch at the waist to ensure a figure-flattering fit, this jumpsuit also features a fibre technology for temperature making it ideal for desert heat.

collina strada. Call them our Barbiecore shoes, we’ve been loving all this jelly and these Collina Strada sandals ($170) are no exception. Reminiscent of our childhood favourites, these jelly sandals boast a foam-rubber footbed and classic round-toe design while glitter adds sparkle.

bikini empire. Get ready to make a splash at any pool party with the Azul swimsuit ($134) from Bikini Empire. We love this textured one-piece with a crisscross back that can be worn as a bodysuit. Best of all? This fabric is made from regenerated nylon yarn derived from industrial waste so you can do good for the planet while looking great.

on. While we love getting ready for summer activities with new fits, sometimes we want to opt for something that has a bit more versatility year round. That’s why a pair of white sneakers is a forever go-to on our packing list. The Roger Clubhouse ($150) from On is equal parts nostalgic and technologically-advanced with their CloudTec for a lightweight comfortable fit.
