shomi how you do that trick: New Canadian video-streaming service Shomi (a Rogers-Shaw co-production) is about to give Netflix Canada a run for its money. With a far more elegant interface, the user experience outperforms NetFlix and "collections" curated by industry veterans (the person who picks the films at your film festival) lend more personality. windy warning: Learning to read can be a cumbersome process for a five-year-old, so anything we can find to entertain our little learners in an educational (and non-cartoony ) way is a blessing. The new locally developed Windy’s Lost Kite app, based on a book series by Vancouver authors, captivated our tester … so much so that her kindergarten art projects began to resemble the colours and esthetic of the stop-motion story.
