5 Watchmakers Launch Bold New Timepieces

Across our world’s time zones, watches are a symbol of history, presence and bold new paths. Five watchmakers challenge this concept of time with daring new luxury timepieces: available to purchase, below, for a limited release. —Julia Dumbrell

Louis Vuitton has crafted a new era of the Tambour watch – unveiled this month in Paris, and launching in September of this year ($5,000). The soon-to-be-available timepieces are distinguished by an integrated bracelet and automatic movement, reinforcing the designation of this chic collection for daily wear.

An emblematic new line harkening back to the 1950s, three new Flagship Heritage models have been released by Longines ($4,000). These watches were one of Longines’ very first collections, featuring satin-brushed finishes and shortened chamfered lugs which make them the perfect size for any wrist. The winged hourglass brand added an additional chapter to this already rich history with its launch of the Longines Spirit Zulu Time ($3,950). The timepiece features multiple time zones, an ergonomic case and stainless steel bracelet which is elegantly interchangeable.

Inspired by the Breathtaking, Windswept Beauty of the Desert, the Rado Centrix timepiece brings a soft and sensuous design to timekeeping ($3,600). In dune and desert-inspired shades of gold, ochre and brown, the piece highlights Rado’s relentless research in new elements, innovative production techniques and harmonious aesthetics.

CITIZEN pays homage to their iconic watch from 1973 with a brand new, limited-edition Promaster Tsuno Chrono release ($1,200).  The watch is powered by the brand’s iconic Eco-Drive movement, with just three thousand individually numbered pieces available worldwide in a striking golden hue.

Created for bold explorers and those proud to be different, the BIG BOLD IRONY line by Swatch embodies an irreverent, confident, and entirely unexpected way of life ($245). Keeping its watches timely, the brand recently launched three bright new styles and colourways for expressing daring personas.
