Victoria Day is the unofficial kick-off to summer party season, and
though we no longer entertain with two-fours and bowls of
nachos, we have no intention of spending it slaving over a hot stove.
According to event planner Suzanne Bouvrette Hurst and Australian
winemaker Philip Laffer, theres no shame in take-out, as long as its
done right:
-
Place your order at least one-hour ahead of dinner time.
-
Add garnish made from fresh fruit or edible flowers.
-
Order a variety of dishes and offer red and white wines to match.
Good pairings: Pad Thai with Riesling, pizza with Cabernet Sauvignon
and Chinese stir fry with Shiraz.
Now you can spend your free time getting a pedicure to show off your new
gladiator sandals. We think Vicky would approve.
