In case you missed it, Vancouver’s first puppy café, Cups and Pups, popped up last Friday and it was a sold out hit! In partnership with the BC SPCA and the Taxi Café, the city’s very first canine café was open to the public for one day only. From as early as 10:30, hundreds were lined up on Richards Street for a chance to see the fluffy talent.
Among the dogs up for adoption was Tuffy. At just two years old, the Chow Chow and German Shepherd mix has been through a lot, losing one eye and recovering from a lack of care. But the handsome pup was all tails that day, beaming under all the love and attention.
With plans to open another café in the works, the BC SPCA is excited going forward with their annual Paws for a Cause walk happening on Sept. 10 next month. Another excuse to play with dozens of dogs? Yes, please. —Jacqueline Ranit
