Husband and wife duo Vikram Vij and Meeru Dhalwala prove their well-earned reputation once again with the long awaited Vij’s on Cambie, a thoughtfully designed space with salivating food.
Always unique on Vancouver’s culinary scene, the menu consists of the same modern Vij’s classics—lamb popsicles, spicy goat, and saag paneer—and cements its status as the most acclaimed Indian restaurant in Canada, and perhaps all of North America. The main difference is the size (much larger than the South Granville location) and design. The attention to detail isn’t unnoticed—6,000 handmade chai bowls hang above the room, bright green tiles wrap the wall into the open kitchen, even the chairs are custom designed. A thoroughly modern Indian restaurant, with a retro feel. —Aleeza Khan
