How Heart Rate Monitors Set Orangetheory Fitness Apart (Win!)

August 22, 2023

When it comes “time” to levelling up your fitness game, technology can help. And Orangetheory—featuring a one-hour, full-body tech- and science-backed workout focused on training endurance, strength and/or power—has got it dialled.

The fitness studio uses Heart Rate Based Interval Training, which burns more calories post workout than traditional exercise. When wearing its Heart Rate monitors, class-goers can see their real-time results displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual Heart Rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, expert fitness coaches lead the workout to prevent you from over or under training.

And it doesn’t end there. With Orangetheory’s OTbeat exclusive heart rate-monitoring technology, which counts every heartbeat, every calorie burned and every second spent in the “orange” and ‘red’ zones (a.k.a. the highest levels of effort), members can continue to monitor their improvements after class through emailed results and by using the Orangetheory Fitness app.

My ideal gum is smiling, happy, positive people. I can work around anything else. The equipment isn’t a big deal, the vibe is.

My ideal gym would be a great big open area – no mirrors, a circuit course with a large area for free weights and mats with enough area to do a HIIT class and/or your personal workout. Maybe some spin cycles as well.
