Vicki’s September Beauty Faves

September 23, 2023

The weather is finally starting to turn on us on the West Coast. Days are starting to get shorter, temps are beginning to drop, it’s clear; fall is here. Maybe it’s from the days of going back to school, but fall seems to always be a good opportunity to overall your beauty routine. Here are some of my favourite new discoveries from the past month. —Vicki Duong

design me puff me volumizing treatment whip. Hair treatments aren’t just for pumping up hydration, they can also be effective for combating knots and adding body. Formulated to not weigh hair down, the Design Me Volumizing Treatment Whip ($30) plumps hair strands while rosemary extract helps stimulate your scalp and promote new hair growth.

rhode strawberry peptide treatment. The Rhode lip treatment ($24) has quickly become one of my go-tos and their newest limited edition scent might be my all-time fave. Done in collaboration with Krispy Kreme, the strawberry glaze will have us daydreaming about summer all autumn long. Bonus: peptides provide a lip plumping effect, apply a thicker layer to create a mask and wipe off the excess after 10 minutes for a fuller pout.

drunk elephant b-goldi. Fake a summer glow with the newest tinted product from Drunk Elephant. The B-Goldi ($52) is a skincare serum that helps revive dull skin while leaving a bright finish without sparkle or glitter. One of my favourite ways to use this serum is as a mixing medium for other serums to add instant glow to my routine.

trinny london BFF all day foundation. One of my favourite European lines has expanded their ever growing collection of beauty and skincare products with a mattifying foundation, BFF All Day ($68). You can always count on Trinny London to create cosmetics products with a plethora of skin care benefits, and her new foundation includes vitamin B3 to smooth and target fine lines while providing even coverage that never cakes.

glow recipe pomegranate peptide firming serum. When it comes to potent serums, Glow Recipe never seems to miss the mark. Their newest, Pomegranate Peptide Firming Serum ($61) has become an instant fave. Pomegranate seed oil aids in boosting elasticity and strength in your skin, while the addition of hyaluronic acid amps up hydration. Plus the milky texture soaks into skin instantly and leaves a dewy finish.

asklepios garden light créme moisturiser. When it comes to keeping our skin nourished I love to keep it luxe and what’s more elegant than supporting local businesses? The Asklepios Garden Jardin Flâneur ($98) is as much of an olfactory experience as it is a beauty ritual. With a rich blend that includes deep neroli and invigorating rosemary, Asklepios Garden invites you to take a moment to yourself while pampering yourself.

milk makeup pore eclipse translucent powder. When it comes to makeup, I am team “set it and forget it,” and Milk Makeup makes it easy. Their new translucent powder ($44) helps set makeup for up to 16 hours while also controlling excess shine and blurs pores. Additionally, you can always count Milk Makeup to know that when it comes to complexion, it’s not one shade fits all so this powder comes in four different shades for the deepest to lightest skin tones.

olay sensitive facial cleanser. Just because the change in weather can be harsh on our skin doesn’t mean we have to be. The new Olay Sensitive Skin Cleanser ($17) leaves my face feeling clean but never stripped or depleted with the addition of oat extract to soothe and strengthen skin’s barrier. Bonus: it provides instant relief for dry and itchy skin!

charlotte tilbury magic water cream. Known for her Magic Cream ($135), celebrity MUA Charlotte Tilbury smashes it yet again with a new addition, the Magic Water Cream ($135), a lightweight and fragrance-free sister to the OG. The Magic Water Cream has a more gel-like consistency making it ideal for oily or sensitive skin types while the addition of niacinamide helps brighten and balance your complexion.

nudestix matte + glow core blush. Get the best of both worlds with the newest cream blush ($34) from Nudestix. The outer layer packs on colour that is buildable and blendable while the inner core adds instant dewiness without enhancing texture. My favourite shade is Magenta Magic, a cool-tone pink created in collaboration with beauty influencer Victoria Lyn.
