It’s certainly been a fall season of referential (dare we say costume-like) trends, from flowy fashion statements inspired by the 1970s to the preppy and put-together dressing which is always in style. Whichever style is of interest, the upcoming Hallo-Weekend signals a time to try out a new seasonal look. Rather than single-use accessories or unflattering fits, consider picking up a last-minute Halloween piece from our three suggestions below to create a stunning costume-turned lifestyle look. —Julia Dumbrell
Groupie-Core: An aesthetic being talked about for groupies and ‘band aids’ alike, channel sensational references like Daisy Jones & The Six or Almost Famous by pairing Free People’s Abby Tube Top with the Ronny Kobo Larissa Skirt and Coco Heels ($94, $475, $96). Leave hair long and undone to get invited backstage with the band at the Halloween function, and at concerts to follow.
It-Girl: The Most It Girl Behaviour is showing up to the function in a glamorous, sultry and low effort look. Inspired by late nights and later mornings, It Girl icon Camille Rowe has teamed up with Reformation to create a capsule wardrobe of sustainable, fall-winter essentials that will make a show stopping piece at this weekend’s party, like the Rose Gold-studded Bevelyn Dress, stunning silver Polly Mary Jane Pump and tiny Saviolla Skirt ($468, $428, $218).
Preppy-Practical: Pick up a brand new pair of the OKAYOK Cotton Knee Highs as part of a preppy school uniform costume ($16). Style the socks with an elegant Coach Leather Headband and a layerable GANNI Multicolour Graphic Vest to win the vote for best dressed at the Halloween party, then back at school or the office after the weekend ($120, $265).
