How To Change Your Perception Of Beauty With Face Reading

November 16, 2023

We’ve all heard the saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” And, if this is true, I hate to say it—but there are a lot of disempowered beholders out there. It’s time to change the paradigms we hold around beauty.

The fact is, we live in a society that creates and supports a body dysmorphic culture. From beauty myths to unrealistic beauty standards, it is impossible to live up to. No matter how many creams, treatments, glitters, glosses or tools we buy, beauty remains elusive. The more we consume, the more our dysmorphia and disappointment grow. Reaching for the standards of others is not the way to achieve beauty and it’s definitely not empowering. On my own journey through clinical treatments from cosmetic procedures to holistic facials, face reading is without a doubt the most empowering beauty tool I’ve discovered.

Here’s the low-down: every wrinkle, blemish and area of discolouration on your face has a story to tell you about how your body is asking for balance. Each and every line on your face is evidence of where your body is holding onto an emotion or stress, and when you recognize what the root of that emotion or stress is, you can actually begin the work to release it—along with the wrinkles that you see!

Face Reading helps us decode the lines on our face, in a way that allows us to use them as tools to achieve balance—instead of perceiving them as flaws we need to hide. Here are some of the most common lines and what they say about emotions we tend to carry:

  1. The “11’s” (the lines between the brows): You can have one, two, three or more lines in this zone. One deep line can mean a need to express your anger or frustration in a constructive way to vent your personal power—which may not be easy, due to conditioned beliefs expressing anger being a negative thing. Two lines indicate frustration and irritation, something we’re all familiar with! Meanwhile, three or more lines mean that you have experienced a lot of anger in the past but have transformed this anger and now know when and how to best express it.
  2. Upper lip lines: Vertical lines of the upper lip may indicate a person is very giving or over-nurturing and need to give back to themselves. These lines tend to indicate a person has used too much of their energy caring for others.
  3. Crows feet: These lines appear at the outer corner of the eyes and typically indicate sadness or joy.  The downward lines indicate sadness, and when they are longer and run into the cheek, they reflect grief.  The upward lines indicate happiness, and when they are longer and run into the temples, can represent tendencies towards mania.
  4. Lower cheek lines: These lines indicate continual stress from overwork and patterns of busy-ness or hurriedness that prevent us from enjoying life. These lines can also indicate a feeling of lack of self esteem.  When present with hollowing in the lower cheeks this can be read as a type of grief resulting from prolonged periods of denying yourself pleasure and gratification.

The skin—wrinkles and all—is an outward expression of our inner world. The truth is, we can shift our emotional state, and by doing so, create more radiant skin. Facial Gua Sha and Facial Reflexology are both powerful ways to lift and revitalize the skin. And tending to your emotional well-being with self-care practices like breathwork and meditation is also key to holistic transformation. We are energetic beings, which is why I teach people about the energetics of skincare, for true, empowering beauty.

If you’d like to receive a full face reading you can do so by booking a facial at Wildflower Beauty Bar.
