New Eats: Mean Bao

February 27, 2015

mean baoWhen we’re hungry, we get snippy. So we welcome all the snack bars that have recently opened in Toronto, where a quick bite helps take the edge off.

Take the second location of Mean Bao (at Queen West and Bathurst), for instance. It’s saved us from a hangry state more than once, with puffy steamed bao filled with braised beef, bok choy and Taiwanese pickles and an array of sauces to fix up our food just how we want. Next time, we’re trying the dim sum dumplings and pork belly bao (don’t get in our way).

Snack attacks satisfied. —Karen Kwan
