Edible Etiquette

May 18, 2015

1Of all the old-world charms enjoying a hipster resurgence (y’know, things like pickling turnips and making DIY macrame pineapple sex swings), we’d like to request the return of the old-fashioned candy dish.

For the quaint purposes of offering guests a wee sweet, we recommend Lancaster soft caramels, which are creamy, chewy, rich and come in classic, raspberry or vanilla-swirl flavours (no new-fangled sea-salt tomfoolery here; the company’s 125 years old and knows timeless tastes). Sure, keeping butterscotch-y treats on hand is a bit of a grandpa move, but grandpas are awesome. So next time you’re at Ye Olde General Store (or Safeway), be sure to grab a few bags of these sweet things to butter up visitors with.

Of course, you could also just eat them yourself. —Adrienne Matei
