Deep Red
From burgundy to oxblood, deep reds dominated the runways for this Fall/Winter season. Red continues to reign as the colour of the moment, showing no signs of fading anytime soon. This time around, we’re seeing darker shades of red, perfectly suited for the colder months.
Feathers
Whether inspired by the popularity of the hit TV series “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” or simply a reflection of designers’ love for glamour, feathers emerged as one of the most prevalent trends of the season. From subtle trims and scarves to full-blown feather dresses and coats, this trend brings a sense of drama to any look.
Bows and Ribbons
The ultra-girly and feminine “Coquette Aesthetic” has been everywhere over the past year, thanks to its popularity on the internet. One of the primary ways this trend has manifested itself, both on and off the runways, is through the addition of bows to everything from shoes to hair accessories. If you haven’t embraced this trend yet, now is the perfect time.
Sheer
Sheer elements were everywhere this Fashion Week, appearing in the form of long skirts with delicate embroidery and light, airy fabrics that provide a breath of fresh air amidst the winter wardrobes typically filled with thick fabrics and dark colours.
Low Waist
Who needs high waists? This season, it’s all about lower waistlines. Low waists were accentuated by belts, bare midriffs, and voluminous silhouettes. The iconic Y2K trend received an upgrade this season, appearing in a more mature and fashion-forward manner than ever before.
