Road 13 Vineyards in Oliver, B.C., is perched on a picturesque hill in the Okanagan Valley and produces some of the most quality wines to come out of the province. Dedicated to sustainable farming practices and “taking care of the dirt” which in turn produces the best grapes, and they have plenty of news about their wines, tasting experiences and events to share.
Dominic McCosker has recently taken the role of head winemaker, and with an impressive career history in the terroir of Australia plus more recently in the Okanagan Valley with Tantalus Vineyard, CedarCreek Estate Winery, La Frenz and Mission Hill we are excited to see what magic this master of winemaking will perform at Road 13.
Especially proud of their premium John Oliver Selection portfolio, highlights include the 2020 Malbec which earned 91 Points at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, earning 88 Points.
The winery’s new Cave Experience was just launched this summer and is considered a core tasting opportunity of the John Oliver portfolio, plus there are a number of tasting experiences guests can book in advance, including Happy Hour every Thursday from 4-6pm (walk-in standard tastings are also welcome).
From the Select Harvest collection, the 2023 Rosé is lovely with its delicate wild rose petal notes plus cherry blossom, apple and pear. The tasting room at the winery is where you’ll be able to sample most of their line up, but those living in North Vancouver’ can visit the Artisan Wine Shop for tastings as well.
Road 13 just partnered with Chef Chris Van Hooydonk of nearby Backyard Farm Chef’s Table to roll out some Farm to Feast Dinners, the next scheduled for December 7th. The menu will feature the winery’s signature bold wines paired with Hooydonk’s exceptional dishes featuring local, seasonal and foraged ingredients.
