The iconic, globally renowned, and female-led luxury bridal fashion label WONA Concept has chosen Vancouver as its newest city to make its mark in. A match made between the beloved Luxx Nova Bridal Boutique and WONA during Barcelona Fashion Week prompted an exclusive relationship between the two. Now, Luxx Nova is the only boutique in Greater Vancouver to carry the label and in September, will host a trunk show featuring WONA’s 2025 Collections to mark the monumental occasion. We chatted with Tatiana Berdyugin and Natalia Khylstov, owners of Luxx Nova Bridal Boutique, to learn more. —Vita Daily
What inspired the partnership between Luxx Nova Bridal Boutique and WONA Concept during Barcelona Fashion Week, and how did it lead to bringing the label to Vancouver?
European dresses are weaved into the essence and fabric of our boutique. So naturally every year, we fly out to Europe’s fashion weeks and bridal shows to scout out different designers to see who could become the next to potentially enter our boutique.
A lot has changed in the bridalwear space and so we too must naturally change with it and grow our collection of designers, all while staying true to the ethos of what it means to be Luxx Nova Bridal. Admittedly WONÀ Concept had been on our radar for quite awhile before we tied the knot (no pun intended!).
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is the largest bridal fashion event in the world, spanning over four days in one of Europe’s fashion capitals. This is the place where designers come to launch their bridal capsule collections and so during Barcelona Fashion Week, we got the opportunity to see WONÀ shine.
The label’s brand evolution was dramatic and the synergy between their collections and what we were looking for felt like a match made in heaven. This got us really excited. We’ve always loved the dresses WONÀ has carried but their newest collections fully aligned with our trajectory. Where we wanted to go in terms of the dresses we wanted to carry. We approached them after the show and the rest is history.
Can you share more about the unique elements of WONA Concept’s 2025 bridal collection and what makes these dresses a must-see for brides in Greater Vancouver?
As a bride you want to be able to channel your inner spirit, your inner romantic, without forgetting about your modern desires. The best way to channel this expressive combination is through the dress you choose to wear.
WONÀ dresses present this very opportunity. There is a dress for every personality, every bride. For those unfamiliar with the label, WONÀ is a family business. The company started as a small private atelier, and from there, only continued to grow. In 2009, the company went from a local atelier to an internationally recognized brand. Wona has become iconic and globally renowned. WONÀdresses start at a higher price point than some of the other labels we carry.
We are carrying dresses from their newest styles from two of the label’s 2025 collections. The collections are a unique, gentle and delicate combination of beauty and elegance, made for the modern bride with some of the best fabrics in the world – spanning everything from high-quality lace, feather, weightless tulle and glossy mikado. The collections offer a diverse palette of styles and fabrics to highlight every bride’s individuality. From A-silhouettes and mermaid tails to ball gowns and jumpsuits.
In Ukrainian, “WONÀ” translates to “she,” symbolizing the woman who takes center stage.
How does WONA Concept’s focus on female empowerment through their designs resonate with your vision for Luxx Nova, and how do you bring that energy to your boutique?
Firstly, WONÀ is a female-led brand, as are we. This in itself ignited a natural flame and spark of mutual excitement.
Secondly, every body and every bride is beautiful. The culture of weddings and bridal fashion has changed so much over the years in support of this truth and we are now in an era where brides can be as fierce and as bold as they want to be on their wedding day. This – the right to choose how you want to portray yourself – is the very essence of female empowerment. We carry a select choice of dresses that reflects this power and have really created an empowering bridal experience.

What can brides expect from the upcoming trunk show in September? Are there any standout designs or trends you’re especially excited to showcase?

As the only boutique in Greater Vancouver carrying WONA Concept, what do you hope this exclusive relationship will bring to the bridal fashion scene in the city?
Through our newly formed relationship with WONÀ we hope to bring a new flair to the local bridal market. We want brides to have a taste of something truly unique and unforgettable. These collections pay true homage to European fashion and will single-handedly expand the city’s bridalwear offerings. WONÀ’s dresses are the perfect combination of art and refined elegance. They push the boundaries of traditional bridal design and we are so honoured that Vancouver brides will get to try on and experience WONÀ through our boutique.
