First Impressions: Are The Rhode Pocket Blushes Worth The Hype?

The new Rhode Pocket Blushes have taken over social media as the latest must-try in beauty. True to their name, these cream blush sticks feature a pocket-size component that’s compact, and convenient for on-the-go use. As outlined on the brand’s website, these blushes are designed for lip and cheek use (who doesn’t love a multi-use product?!) and are formulated to melt into the skin leaving behind a natural flush. 

I was immediately intrigued by the hype surrounding the latest Rhode drop that I simply had to try it.

So these are my honest opinions on the Rhode Pocket Blush in shade Spicy Marg.

First off, the packaging is super cute. It definitely features a compact design compared to most blushes on the market, but I would say it’s better suited for your purse than your pocket. This is a product I can see myself taking on the go because of how portable it is. 

When it comes to the shade, Spicy Marg is a stunning bright coral that I feel would complement a wide range of skin tones. This is because the warm, vibrant hue can help to add a fresh, lively flush of color to multiple complexions.

The formula itself is described as offering a “satiny, diffused flush.” It is also said to feel lightweight and hydrating, while being long-wearing. Overall, the Rhode Pocket Blush boasts a glowy but nongreasy feel, which is key here. Nonetheless, I was excited to put it to the test.

Taking notes from Hailey herself, I opted to apply a few swipes to the apples of my cheeks, blending it out with my fingers. I couldn’t believe how buttery-soft the formula was—the creamy texture melted seamlessly into the skin where I was left with a natural glow. The color itself gave my cheeks a radiant flush- offering an almost lit-from-within dewiness when applied. 

I love how this product is super buildable—I could’ve easily left the color as is for a more natural look, but I chose to layer a couple more swipes to both cheeks to build up the intensity. Since it’s summer, I opted for a more vibrant look but it’s great to see that the Rhode Pocket Blush is versatile in the sense that the user has more control over the coverage. 

I LOVE how Spicy Marg looks on my complexion—the beautiful coral shade is brightening and it enhances other features on my face, such as my eyes. Might I add that this shade looks stunning on the lips as well? Although I don’t typically gravitate towards corals when it comes to lip colors, I’ll have to make an exception for this one since it left me with the perfect pout, effortlessly complementing my matching coral cheeks in the process. 

I topped off the lips with a touch of Guava Spritz, the new Peptide Lip Tint that (I feel) perfectly coordinates with Spicy Marg for a monochromatic sunkissed coral look. 

After a full-day wear test, I can confidently say that the Rhode Pocket Blushes live up to the hype. 

It’s official- founder Hailey Bieber knows what’s up when it comes to these Pocket Blushes! The current shade range features 6 gorgeous colorways, those of which include a baby pink (piggy), bronze terracotta (toasted teddy), and soft mauve (sleepy girl) among others. However, I can’t wait to see if she plans on expanding the lineup somehow in the future. 

For now, the Rhode Pocket Blushes get a 10/10 stamp of approval. A little goes a long way and they’re the perfect makeup must-have for on-the-go application. This is an essential everyone should have in their collection if they’re after the ultimate hydrating blush that’s lightweight, long-wearing, and looks incredible. —Samantha Vecchiarelli
