Vancouver’s vibrant dining scene just got even more exciting! The 15th Annual Chinese Restaurant Awards have revealed their highly anticipated Top 30 longlist, featuring the best of Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine across Metro Vancouver. From cozy food court stalls to high-end Cantonese seafood eateries, this curated list reflects the diverse and mouthwatering flavors of the region.
The awards, which aim to honor the finest in Chinese culinary excellence, enlisted 18 esteemed judges, including food critics, media professionals, and industry insiders, to explore Vancouver’s dynamic food culture. These judges spent months sampling a range of dishes from traditional dim sum to contemporary fusion cuisine.
“This year’s Top 30 longlist highlights the incredible variety of Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine we’re lucky to have in Metro Vancouver,” says Lee Man, judging panel chair. “From Cantonese to Hunan and Sichuan, the list reflects both the depth of tradition and the exciting new culinary trends in our region.”
Among the standout restaurants on this year’s longlist are fan favorites like Chinatown BBQ, known for its delectable Cantonese BBQ in Vancouver, and Mott 32, a contemporary Chinese spot offering an elevated dining experience. Other notable entries include Sea Harbour Restaurant for its exquisite Cantonese seafood, and The Fish Man, a go-to for Sichuan cuisine lovers.
The excitement doesn’t stop there—on November 5, the awards will announce the Top 15 Elite Awards, recognizing the best of the best, including special honors for rising stars and master chefs. And for foodies eager to indulge, tickets are now available for the DINING by the Awards event on November 18 at Chang’An Restaurant.
