What inspired the creation of the Collective Will In-House Collection, and how did you approach transforming traditional tailoring into these unique designs?

The idea of easy dressing inspired the Collective Will collection. We all have days when we overthink our outfits only to go back to our tried-and-true style. Transforming traditional men’s suiting into easy-to-wear styles for everyone is something we already know we can trust, with a twist.

With the collection featuring locally sourced and re-made pieces, how important is sustainability in your design process, and how does this reflect in the final products?

Sustainability was top of mind throughout this collection. Two of the three styles in this collection are created from one single piece, with no waste. The Trouser Skirt is the bottom half of a Cropped Blazer! We experienced waste with our Cropped Shirts but have held onto the strips for future projects.

Can you share more about the three standout styles in this collection? What makes them versatile, and how can they be easily integrated into someone’s existing wardrobe?

The Cropped Shirt is as easy to style as your favorite t-shirt. Pair it with jeans, trousers, or skirts for an effortless look, or make a statement with lace pants.

Swap your denim or leather jackets for the Cropped Blazer, and it will instantly level up your outfit: my go-to T-shirt, jeans, and a blazer for meetings, lunches, dinners, and birthdays.

Despite the name, The Trouser Skirt can be worn over any bottom. Style over-top jeans, trousers, skirts, lounge pants, or even along your waistline with a dress.

The “boyfriend” fit shirt is a key piece in the collection, blending comfort and style. What was your design philosophy behind achieving this balance while still maintaining a flattering silhouette?

Most people associate “boyfriend” fit with large and oversized but lose their shape and silhouette. These custom-cropped lengths maintain the structure of that fit but make it perfect for any torso length or bottom rise while still showing off your shape. We don’t want to look like we’re playing dress up, but rather, we want to look dressed up (without too much effort).

How do you envision the Collective Will In-House Collection evolving in the future, and what can your customers expect from upcoming releases?

Every piece is reworked and upcycled styles from secondhand finds; we can only create from what resources we have access to. We won’t make it if we cannot find the right fit. This will help maintain design and quality without overproducing. The collection will be available through drops, so be sure to stay up to date to see when the next one will be.
