Bookish Beauty

August 26, 2009

We all know that Louis Vuitton wrote the book on luxury.

Now the legendary
fashion house
has its own hardcover monograph thats almost as
stunning its bags. Louis Vuitton Art, Fashion and Architecture
($160) is a 400-page retrospective of essays and illustrations examining
how artists and designers, like Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami,
have influenced the brand (and vice-versa).

Engraved in a Damier pattern with a plexiglass slipcase, it might not be
as satisfying as owning your own monogrammed trunk, but it will look
awfully winsome on a coffee table.

Available September 1 at Louis Vuitton, 1307 St-Catherine W., Montreal,
514-849-6520, www.louisvuitton.com
