Metropolis at Metrotown is turning up the holiday cheer this season with an expanded lineup of festive experiences, perfect for families, friends, and even couples looking for a unique night out. From cozy holiday lounges to charitable giving and a romantic date night with Santa, there’s something for everyone at BC’s largest shopping centre.
Relax in the New Holiday Lounge
Starting November 25 (and going all the way through to December 23), take a break from the holiday hustle and unwind in The Met’s brand-new, 3,500-square-foot Holiday Lounge near the Grand Court. Free for all to enjoy, this festive space is decked out with twinkling lights, hanging evergreens, a snow globe photo opportunity, and classic holiday movies playing throughout the day. On select dates, enjoy live music while kids can create holiday crafts in a dedicated activity area.
For an extra touch of holiday magic, guests who spend $300 or more in one day can access the exclusive VIP Lounge, featuring wine, a hot chocolate bar, sweet treats, light snacks, parcel and coat check, and even a holiday cookie-decorating station. Plus, the first 500 VIP visitors will receive a complimentary red Holiday tote, granting unlimited lounge access throughout the season.
Date Night with Santa: A Festive Evening for Adults
For two nights only, The Met is turning up the heat with its all-new Date Night with Santa experience. On December 6 and 13, the Holiday Lounge transforms into a cozy, adults-only retreat where couples and friends can enjoy live music, a complimentary drink (bubbles, wine, or a Kir Royale), holiday-inspired canapés, and sweets. Cap the evening with a Santa photo session and select your favorite digital snap (prints available at an additional cost).
Perfect for date night or a festive girls’ night out, tickets are $50 for two guests, plus tax.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
No holiday visit to The Met is complete without meeting Santa! From November 12 to December 23, Santa will be available for photos, including themed appearances like Father Christmas (the classic storybook Santa), Global Santa (celebrating diverse holiday traditions), and Tropical Santa (making a sunny appearance post-Christmas, from December 27-30). Partial proceeds from Santa photos will benefit the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
Give Back This Holiday Season
In the spirit of giving, Metropolis at Metrotown is proud to support several charitable initiatives:
- Charity Gift Wrap Station: Have your gifts beautifully wrapped for a donation to Burnaby Neighbourhood House.
- Toy Drive: Donate a toy to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau on December 7 and receive a $10 gift card (first 100 donors). Every donor is entered to win a $100 gift card.
- Partial proceeds from Santa photos will also benefit the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
Jingle All the Way with Live Holiday Music
New this year, Holiday Music at The Met, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, December 3 – 19, will feature roaming musicians spreading cheer throughout the shopping centre. Enjoy performances by artists like Latin guitarist John Gilliat, jazz trumpeter Bonnie Northgraves, and accordionist Taras Luka.
