We like our food like we like our daytime soaps—oh so cheesy.
Which is why we ran over to (slightly silly named) Cut the Cheese in the Junction – we figured sprinting there semi-justified the downing of copious amounts of carbs that ensued.
This new, mostly take-out neighbourhood joint serves up creamy mac ‘n’ cheese in six different varieties (the Bull Fighter’s delectable topping of chorizo, cauliflower, peppers and jalapeno havarti had us saying “Ole!”) and a half-dozen gourmet grilled cheese options with four bread choices (including gluten-free). We can’t even bear the thought of making a paltry grilled cheese at home after tasting their Pearisian and its sweet and savoury combination of pear poached in red wine, arugula, pancetta, blue cheese and brie.
Our daily intake of dairy? We’ll have no problems meeting it now. —Karen Kwan
