Ever wonder what’s on our wish lists, when it comes to holiday gifting and getting? We asked members of the VITA team to submit their Letters to Santa–here’s what contributing writer Jenn Cox wants for Christmas!
When it comes to my holiday wish list, I like things that are practical as well as a few little luxuries too. The useful stuff is great becomes it comes in handy and it’s something I don’t have to buy (but need), while the niceties are fun because, well, the holidays are for being spoiled too! Here are a few things I hope Santa brings me this year.
Mini Mask Multiverse 4-Piece Mask Kit from Peter Thomas Roth
I first fell in love with their eye patches, and now I’m obsessed with their face masks. This little kit is perfect for the holidays because it includes four different masks: a soothing Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme De-Tox Hydrator, smoothing Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer, brightening 24K Gold Mask Pure Luxury Lift & Firm, and hydrating Water Drench® Hyaluronic Cloud Mask Hydrating Gel. Tuck it into a stocking or under the tree – either way, I’d love to be gifted this set.
Sonny Boy: A Memoir
One of my favourite things to do over the holiday break is catch up on my reading. A lof of great titles came out this fall, and unfortunately, I fell behind, so over the festive season I’ll be hunkering down with books. One I’m really looking forward to reading is Sonny Boy, a new memoir from Al Pacino. It’s about a man who has nothing left to fear and nothing left to hide: all the great roles, the essential collaborations, and the important relationships are given their full due, as is the vexed marriage between creativity and commerce at the highest levels. The book’s golden thread, however, is the spirit of love and purpose. Conan O’Brien recently said on his podcast that it’s the best biography he’s ever read, so I’m looking forward to getting into it.
Calvin Klein CK One Essence perfume
I have always loved CK One perfume (since my teenage years), and I absolutely love this new twist on their iconic scent with Essence. It’s more concentrated than the original and features top notes of sparkling Italian bergamot and blood orange that add vibrant intensity to the fragrance, while organic green tea mix with a warm base of natural sandalwood and upcycled musk. The feeling is clean and exciting. And I love the sleek bottle it comes in. Santa, please…
Pyrofarms’ Bioluminescent Bio-Orb
OK, so not necessarily your traditional gift, but when I heard about bioluminescence, I really wanted to see it. Now you can have this beautiful modern kit and house your own bioluminescent ecosystem at home! It’s basically natural marine plankton (algae) that light up at night when gently swirled or moved. This stylish modern orb system will illuminate naturally, night after night, with minimal care. And I want one. This would be a cool gift for the person who seems to have everything.
BKIND lip balm
Every winter I go through sticks and sticks of lip gloss (I keep it everywhere). Plus, I am a huge fan of BKIND and their all-natural, eco-friendly, vegan nail polishes. Now they’ve launched a collection of new lip balms just in time for the holidays. They’re packed with ceramides, squalane, shea butter, and aloe vera, which all help to repair and protect damaged lips, prevent chapping, and lock in long-lasting hydration. They come in three yummy flavours. I’ll take one of each, please.
