For the Cheese Dip:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Monkey Bread Balls:
- Cut the biscuit dough into 4 equal pieces per biscuit to create small dough squares.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.
- Roll each piece of dough into a ball, dip it into the butter mixture, then roll it in Parmesan cheese.
- Assemble the Christmas Tree:
- Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in a Christmas tree shape, starting with a large base and tapering to a single ball at the top. Leave slight gaps between the dough balls to allow for rising.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Make the Cheese Dip:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and garlic powder until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Monkey Bread Christmas Tree:
- Once baked, transfer the monkey bread tree to a serving platter. Brush with any remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
- Serve warm with the cheese dip in a small bowl at the base of the tree.
