On February 10, 2025, Helly Hansen—the trusted global ski brand—invites all mountain lovers to celebrate International Ski Patrol Day (ISPD), honoring the brave men and women who work tirelessly to keep ski resorts safe, open, and fun for all. Now in its fourth year, ISPD is an opportunity for skiers, snowboarders, and winter enthusiasts to show appreciation for ski patrollers who dedicate their days to avalanche control, first aid, and ensuring smooth resort operations.
Join the Celebration: How You Can Give Back
This ISPD, Helly Hansen encourages everyone to take a moment to thank their local ski patrollers—whether it’s with a high-five, a handwritten message, or by sharing stories of gratitude online using #SkiPatrolDay. Skiers visiting select Canadian resorts will also have the chance to participate in exclusive Helly Hansen x ISPD activations, including writing thank-you notes or voting for their favorite patroller. Resorts taking part include:
- Red Mountain
- Fernie
- Sun Peaks
- Panorama
- Kicking Horse
- Mount Washington
- Mont-Sainte-Anne
- Stoneham
- Bromont
- Snow Valley
- Kimberly
- Lake Louise
- Marmot Basin
A Commitment to Supporting Ski Patrols Globally
As part of the 2025 ISPD initiative, Helly Hansen will donate 5% of e-commerce and select retail sales on February 10th to organizations that directly support ski patrol teams worldwide, including:
- Fédération Internationale des Patrouilles de Ski (FIPS)
- Canadian Ski Patrol
- The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC)
“Ski patrollers are the unsung heroes of the mountains, ensuring the safety of all who come to enjoy winter sports,” says Joumana Løvstad, Chief Marketing Officer at Helly Hansen. “We’re proud to outfit over 55,000 professionals worldwide, and through ISPD 2025, we invite all mountain-goers to join us in celebrating their dedication.”
Inside the Life of a Ski Patroller
Beyond the slopes, Helly Hansen is shining a light on real ski patrollers, sharing behind-the-scenes stories of their daily routines, challenges, and passion for the job. From early-morning avalanche control to responding to emergencies on the mountain, their work is nothing short of heroic.
