What inspired you to start selling on Poshmark, and how did it grow into a business during your maternity leave?
I was inspired to start selling on Poshmark because of the flexibility it offered, the opportunity to earn extra income, and my love for fashion. Leading up to and during my maternity leave, it gradually grew into a business, as I dedicated more time to my closet and saw the potential for success.
The après-ski aesthetic has gained popularity lately. What pieces or brands are you seeing trend the most for this look on Poshmark?
Puffer jackets and cozy knits have been trending all winter long! The key to nailing the après-ski aesthetic is layering! Think thermal base layers, stylish fleece pullovers, and statement outerwear. Layer, layer, layer! Brands like The North Face, Rudsak, Patagonia, Moncler, and Carhartt are especially popular for this look. Accessories also play a big role. You could include a chunky scarf or fur-lined boots. My favourite accessory this winter is adding retro ski goggles to complete the look!

Absolutely! The vintage Champion puffer in my Poshmark closet is a true gem. I love finding unique, high-quality pieces that stand out. Plus, vintage pieces like this are not only sustainable, but also add a one-of-a-kind touch to any winter wardrobe!
As a mom and entrepreneur, how do you balance managing your Poshmark closet while navigating daily life?
Balancing being a mother of two while currently on maternity leave with my youngest (8-months old) and managing my Poshmark closet requires effective time management and strategic planning. The amazing thing about Poshmark is that you make your own schedule. Whether your focus is adding listings for sale in your closet, or going live to showcase and auction pieces, the opportunities are truly endless. I take advantage of Poshmark’s mobile app to manage my closet on-the-go, allowing me to share my listings and action any inquiries from buyers. Plus, this month, Poshmark is rolling out its new tool, Smart List AI, that automatically generates listing details, like title and description, from just one photo generative AI! The feature will help me to create more listings in less time.

The growth and hype of shopping and selling preloved fashion can be attributed to many key factors. Affordability, unique one-of-a-kind pieces, having a positive impact on the environment are just to name a few!

- Don’t forget to visit your local thrift stores.
- My biggest tip? Try everything on and ignore the size tag! When shopping second-hand, it’s all about how the piece fits and the price (not the number on the label)!
Have you noticed any specific trends or items that are consistently in high demand during ski season?
Living in Canada, our ski seasons may be unpredictable but we don’t lack in trends on the slopes! Puffer jackets and one-piece snow suits are essential. Vintage snow suits definitely earn some extra style points!
What’s the most exciting or unique item you’ve sold on Poshmark, and how did it resonate with buyers?
This is a tough question, as there’s been so many pieces that tell a story. While some might say their most exciting piece is the one that was their biggest flip with the highest profit, for me, it’s those unique items that always leave me craving that feeling again. Pieces like a vintage Coca-Cola dress sold to @sift_boutique or a vintage UPS NASCAR jacket sold to @a_srikum.
Do you have any advice for people who are new to selling on Poshmark and want to turn it into a successful side hustle or business?
The best advice I can give is to work hard. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Show up for yourself and most importantly be your authentic self. There are many ways to succeed on Poshmark, whether through live selling or maintaining active closet listings. Make sure it’s something you enjoy, and most importantly, have fun with it! I’ve learned so much from other sellers & buyers. That’s the greatest thing about Poshmark, the community!
