Our Island food escapades continue! (Check out Part 1 of our Maui culinary adventure here.)

stick doughnutsrise ‘n’ shine: Wake up to the sweet scent of fresh-baked goods wafting from Komoda Store & Bakery—a family establishment that’s been around since 1916. For good reason, too: this place serves some of the best cream puffs and malsadas ("stick" doughnuts) in the world. Sweets for breakfast? Yeah we did (again, for those of you who have been paying attention)! Komoda Store & Bakery, 3674 Baldwin Ave., Makawao, 808-572-7261

paia fish marketdaily catch: Visit the charming surf town of Paia and the Paia Fish Market for a hearty lunch. The Fish Lunch Plate lets you sample the daily catch, charbroiled, Cajun or sautéed (you choose) while the Shrimp and Chips offers a playful Island take on the British classic. Paia Fish Market, 100 Baldwin Ave., Paia, 808-579-8030, www.paiafishmarket.com

local boyscool off: A suitable refreshment to the tropical heat comes in the form of Local Boys’ Shave Ice. This traditional Hawaiian dessert is just what it seems: flavoured ice shaved into a cone. Though we’re partial to coconut and mango, there are over 20 varieties to choose from (do opt for an adzuki bean addition, to add texture). Local Boys West, 624 Front St., Lahaina, and Local Boys South,1941 South Kihei Rd.,

kamy farmsshop fresh: Organic farming is blossoming in Maui; don’t miss the opportunity to grab some fresh produce at Kamu Farms, which happens to be a local chef favourite with the freshest papayas we’ve ever tasted (tip: the fruit makes a perfect afternoon beach snack). Kamu Farms, 1670 Honoapiilani Hwy., Waikapu, 808-244-4800, http://kumufarms.com

kaanadine out: We saved the best for last. Get ready for a night out at the stylish Ka’ana Kitchen at the Andaz, one of the Island of Maui’s hippest boutique hotels. Chef Isaac Bancaco’s talent shines through truly innovative family-style fare. Start with a Watermelon Salad featuring local goat feta, horseradish, arugala and crunchy candied walnuts or the Ahi Tataki with heirloom tomatoes, fresh burratta and lilokoi (essentially, the chef’s take on a Caprese salad). When you’re ready, move on to unique entrees like the fusion-y Abalone Risotto with grilled bacon, egg and miso. Throughout the meal, sip on Holiday in Jalisco: tequila, jalapeño syrup (you read right), lime and pineapple juice and a soda splash. Ka’ana Kitchen, 3550 Wailea Alanui Dr., Wailea, 808-573-1234, http://maui.andaz.hyatt.com
