Thank you! For me, a beautifully designed home isn’t just about aesthetics—it has to function effortlessly for daily life. I believe in striking a balance between style and practicality by choosing pieces that are both visually stunning and truly livable. I love layering textures, playing with moody tones, and adding statement pieces, but I always consider how a space is used.

For example, I’ll splurge on timeless, high-quality furniture while opting for budget-friendly styling elements that can be switched out easily. It’s also about smart storage solutions, durable materials, and thoughtful layouts that make a home feel curated yet comfortable. Beauty should never come at the cost of comfort—your home should feel as good as it looks.

What’s one small decor change that can instantly elevate any space?

Lighting! It’s one of the most underrated design elements, but it can completely transform a space. Swapping out basic builder-grade lighting for a statement fixture, layering different light sources like sconces or table lamps, or even just changing the temperature of your bulbs can instantly make a room feel more elevated and intentional.

I also love incorporating dimmers—they add a whole new level of ambiance. Good lighting doesn’t just illuminate a space; it sets the mood and makes everything look more polished.

What’s your advice for someone who wants to refresh their home on a budget?

I always say that refreshing your home doesn’t have to mean a full renovation—small, thoughtful updates can make a big impact. My go-to advice is to start with paint. A fresh coat of paint can completely transform a space, whether you go for a moody, cozy vibe or something light and airy.

Swapping out hardware on cabinets and doors is another budget-friendly trick that instantly elevates a room. And never underestimate the power of styling—rearrange your furniture, add new throw pillows, layer in textured decor, or bring in fresh greenery. You can work with what you have and make intentional changes that breathe new life into your space.

When it comes to design trends, what’s one that’s timeless and one that’s overrated?

A timeless design element that will never go out of style is thoughtful layering—mixing textures, materials, and vintage with modern. It creates a space that feels lived-in, collected, and uniquely yours rather than something straight out of a catalog. Natural materials like wood, linen, and stone also have staying power because they age beautifully and add warmth to any home.

As for an overrated trend, I’d say anything that feels too ‘fast fashion’ in design—trends that blow up overnight and then quickly feel dated. For example, overly themed or hyper-trendy aesthetics that don’t leave room for personal expression. I always encourage people to design with what they truly love rather than what’s viral at the moment because that’s what makes a home feel special and timeless.

What’s the most unique or meaningful item in your home, and what’s the story behind it?

Every time I travel, I bring back something for my home—it’s my way of collecting memories and making my space feel like a reflection of my experiences. I have art from flea markets in Portugal, a coffee table book from Sicily, vintage pots from Mexico, and more. Each piece tells a story and reminds me of the time I spent there.

One of the most special pieces in my home, though, is a piece of art that was passed down to me by a family member. It holds so much sentimental value, and I wanted to honor it properly, so I had it custom framed. It now hangs at one of the entrances to my home, where I see it every day. It’s a constant reminder of him, of family, and of the deep connections that make a house feel like home.
