One of our favourite annual festivals, packed with great outdoor events, will remind you why winter isn’t SO bad. Here are three more reasons to go to Banff SnowDays, on till February 8th:
1. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand (and foot) at ice climbing, here’s your chance. Mountain Equipment Co-op is holding clinics and demos so you can scale the 40-foot ice wall right on Banff Avenue.
2. Head down (up?) the road to Lake Louise to stare in awe at ice sculptures created by master carvers from around the world in just 36 hours (hurry, before these beauties melt!).
3. Banff throws the best street parties, and you won’t want to miss the weekend’s closing event, complete with food vendors, a beer tent and a massive terrain park right on Bear Street.
