Bar Reyna Brings the Mediterranean

Lifestyle & Parenting

If you need to find us this summer, we’ll be sipping cocktails from a pineapple on a chic Mediterranean styled patio. Bar Reyna has opened its doors in Yorkville and we couldn’t be happier. Dishes include giant shrimp tossed in piri piri and garlic, served up with sourdough toast, thin and crispy frites topped with chorizo and shaved Manchego, and the can’t-be-missed Cataplana, a dish filled with clams, mussels, shrimp and succulent lobster. We love the cosy, feminine space (their name does mean “Queen” in Spanish, after all). Their delicious cocktail, Her Royal Highness, (Mount Gay Rum Extra Old, Absolut Elyx Vodka, saffron, cardamom and rosewater syrup, Orgeat syrup, grapefruit and citrus), is served in a giant copper pineapple fit for royalty. For dessert, be sure to grab their Salted Caramel Bites—crunchy phyllo pastry filled with salted caramel cream. Perfection! —Amanda Nunes
