Interior Design 101: How to Bring the Tropics Indoors This Winter

October 8, 2014

cayman island collectionUntil our next tropical getaway, we plan on weathering winter by transitioning our homes to satisfy our Caribbean cravings.

Kate Thornley-Hall’s new Cayman Islands Collection is inspired by the Grand Cayman, where she spent a week falling in love with the locals (pretty much the happiest people on earth, and for good reason: they live in paradise). The Canadian internior designer’s luxe line includes everything from pretty toile throw pillows (from $120 each) to graphic carpets and wallpaper. Thornley-Hall says that, for her, the most fun piece in the collection is the Cayman toile fabric: “I’ve always loved French toile and when I show it to people from Grand Cayman and they almost get teary and emotional, it’s amazing."

All that’s missing from our virtual vacation is a tropical cocktail in hand; thankfully, we can fix that easily, too. —Karen Kwan
