How To “Make Special Happen” With Fairmont

Travel & Culture

What turns a trip into something unforgettable? For Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, it’s the unexpected touches—those goosebump moments of connection, escape, indulgence, and awe—that transform ordinary getaways into lifelong memories.

Launched on May 19, “Make Special Happen” is Fairmont’s brand-new global campaign—and it’s more than a slogan. It’s a call to embrace the magic of travel, big and small. Whether it’s soaring over a waterfall by seaplane or sipping tea in a glass-encased city perch, Fairmont wants you to rediscover how “special” can unfold in the most cinematic of ways.

A New Chapter in Storybook Travel

Shot at Toronto’s iconic Fairmont Royal York and directed by filmmaker Jean Claude Thibaut, the campaign’s launch film follows a vibrant cast of characters preparing for a grand event—capturing not just the glamour of celebration, but the joy found in the journey itself. The film is a love letter to Fairmont’s legendary past, from hosting the signing of the UN Charter to John and Yoko’s famous “bed-in for peace.”

But the true message? You don’t need a milestone to make a moment magical. You just need the right setting—and a little imagination.

Experience “Special” Across Canada

Here’s how Fairmont is bringing the campaign to life with uniquely Canadian offerings:

  • Castle Confidential – Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Step into a real-life whodunit with this room-by-room mystery experience, complete with custom cocktails and elevated canapés.
  • Tea in the Window – Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Escape the everyday with high tea served in a luxe, glass-encased nook overlooking the city—a blend of ritual, theatre, and people-watching.
  • Absolute Solitude Wellness – Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Journey by seaplane to Chatterbox Falls for a guided yoga session in the heart of the ancient rainforest. Peace never looked so spectacular.
  • Royal Ascent: The Vintner’s Voyage – Fairmont Royal York
Board a private flight to Niagara wine country for an estate tasting and chef-prepared lunch in a candlelit barrel cave.

These experiences are just a taste of what Fairmont has in store. With more activations on the horizon, the brand is reimagining what it means to travel meaningfully—and memorably. —Vita Daily
