Wondering how to squeeze the most out of this year’s Interior Design Show West, September 24th to 27th at the Vancouver Convention Centre? We’ve rounded up five top things to see and do—enjoy!
the LA exchange: Popular blog Design Milk curates the second instalment of this star attraction, featuring six young designers from the City of Angels. Check out furniture, lighting and other household objects for an up-close-and-personal glimpse into what’s at the very forefront of North American design.
open studio: Ten designers and firms present their functional-slash-conceptual ideas around the idea of "workspace," each beginning with the same blank canvas—a 10-foot-by-10-foot raw space. We’re looking forward to what DesignLab Interiors, PURE by Ami McKay, Union Wood Co. and others make of the theme.
the social sessions: This day-long conference, presented in partnership with lifestyle blog Poppytalk, includes discussions with bloggers like Joy Cho of Oh Joy, Jaime Derringer of Design Milk and Vancouver’s own Monika Hibbs. (Bonus: Go home with a swag bag of cool design-y stuff.)
portland pop-up: Part of the show’s cash-and-carry component, pick up household goods and covetable design-centric objects from Portland-based designers like Merkled Studio, Quartertwenty and Plywerk.
the party on opening night: Be among the first to check out IDSwest at the opening night soiree, where all exhibits will be open for business—including the bar. Bring your design-savvy friends, grab a glass of wine and peruse the latest trends, products and more in design and décor.
