Hair Guru Bobby Eliot Joins The OLAPLEX Family

From red carpets to editorial spreads, celebrity hairstylist Bobby Eliot is known for creating some of Hollywood’s most iconic looks—and now he’s bringing his artistry to OLAPLEX as the brand’s newest Global Ambassador. With a career shaped by classic Hollywood glamour, fashion, and music, Bobby has styled A-listers like Julia Garner and Jenna Ortega, collaborated with Gucci and Nike, and inspired pros worldwide with his technical precision. We sat down with Bobby to talk about his creative journey, his go-to hair philosophy, and what it means to join the OLAPLEX community. —Noa Nichol

Your career began with a strong foundation in education and precision cutting—how do you see that technical background influencing your creative collaborations with OLAPLEX?

My foundation at Vidal Sassoon has influenced everything I’ve done in my career. The way I see hair is influenced by architecture and foundation, Olaplex perfectly aligns with those ethos by delivering foundational hair health- and that really is so special to be a part of.  

You’ve often cited classic Hollywood glamour as an inspiration. How do you reinterpret those timeless looks for today’s red carpets while still making them feel fresh and current?

I’m so inspired by nostalgia and the glamour of classic Hollywood cinema. I try to always reference each client and their own personal style while having a strong sense of classic eras. Each situation and every moment is so different, and being open to ideas and working as a team is key. 

OLAPLEX is known for championing the stylist community. In your new role as Global Brand Ambassador, how do you envision supporting and inspiring other professionals in the industry?

I think education and community within our industry is so important for evolving and growing as a stylist. I truly believe that knowledge and sharing education is a power that helps everyone grow together. If I can inspire and share knowledge- that to me is everything.

Working with talent like Julia Garner and Jenna Ortega, what’s your approach to creating hair looks that not only photograph beautifully but also empower your clients to feel their best?

I think the key to working with clients is a great foundation of healthy hair. If their hair looks and feels amazing, everything else falls into place. Each event and situation is totally different and having an understanding of that has helped me. It’s also important to know their proportions and how the silhouette plays into the overall look.

OLAPLEX is built on science-backed formulas and transformative results—how do you balance the technical side of hair health with your creative vision when styling?

Well, I mean that’s the easy part because Olaplex’s formulas have done the work for me. I think constantly mixing and playing with Olaplex has helped me know what works for different hair types and the range of results I can achieve with different products. That’s what keeps me creative- the constant playing with products and finding new ways to use them.
