Summer fun: Bouldering

August 2, 2016

Have you exhausted your city summer activities? Hiked all the hikes and seen all the sights? Switch it up with something just as physical but way more fun.

Rock Jungle Climbing has just opened its newest location conveniently North of Grant Macewan University downtown. It is the first bouldering only climbing facility in Edmonton and features over 6,000 feet of walls to be tackled by anyone from beginner to advanced. Unlike traditional vertical rock climbing, bouldering is done without harnesses and ropes so it’s just you and the wall. But don’t worry, you aren’t in for an epic free fall, bouldering walls are shorter than those straight up and down climbs you likely did at summer camp. With lots of, curves, twists and turns the walls at Rock Jungle Boulders make for hours of fun. Get a grip. —Amy Dillon
