Dining & Wine

Move over, après-hike—Squamish’s hottest fall tradition is back. The beloved Sip & Savour Squamish dining celebration returns for its 7th year, running November 6 to 27, and it’s serving up three weeks of flavour, community, and culinary creativity. From multi-course menus at local favourites like The Salted Vine and Backcountry Brewing to exclusive one-night dining experiences at Fergie’s Café and Zephyr @ The BAG, this year’s lineup celebrates the mountain town’s ever-evolving food scene. We caught up with Nikki Johnston, Communications & Stakeholder Relations Manager at Tourism Squamish, to talk about the chefs, flavours, and foodie energy fueling this year’s Sip & Savour. —Noa Nichol

What makes this year’s Sip & Savour lineup stand out from past years? Are there any new restaurants or special collaborations that food lovers shouldn’t miss?

This year, the event has been refined to spotlight seated, multi-course dining menus and special culinary experiences, giving restaurants a stronger platform to showcase their offerings. This year’s lineup features a diverse mix of local favourites and new additions, including: Autostrada, Backcountry Brewing, The Broken Seal, Copper Beach Bar + Kitchen, Fergie’s Café, Freebird Table & Oyster Bar, House of Lager, Lil Chef Bistro, Match Eatery & Public House, Pepe’s Chophouse, The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar, and Zephyr @ The BAG, with more to come.

Squamish is known for its adventure vibe—how would you describe its food scene right now? Has it evolved into more of a destination for culinary travelers as well as outdoor enthusiasts?

Squamish’s greatest strength will always be its sense of adventure — it’s incredible how much you can do in a single day here.

That said, the culinary scene has been quietly and steadily evolving alongside the town’s growth. We’re lucky to have a mix of long-standing local favourites that the community has cherished for years, and a new wave of restaurants that bring fresh energy and creativity. Along the oceanfront, spots like House of Lager add a relaxed, social atmosphere; The Broken Seal along the Mamquam Blind Channel offers a modern coastal vibe; and Autostrada in Britannia Beach brings a touch of Italian warmth. Together, these places reflect how Squamish’s food culture is becoming more diverse, welcoming, and worth exploring.

Fergie’s Café and Zephyr @ The BAG are doing special one-off dining experiences this year—can you give us an insider peek at what guests can expect from these exclusive events?

On November 14, the event at Fergie’s Café includes a French inspired Apéro Experience: think of it as happy hour, but slower, more social, and designed to spark your appetite. Rooted in French tradition, it’s a custom to gather, mingle, and unwind before a meal. The evening begins with complimentary small bites to spark the palate, followed at 7 PM by a four-course dinner showcasing seasonal flavours and carefully crafted dishes. Then, on November 16 & 17, Zephyr @ The BAG invites guests on a Pan-African Feast—a three-course culinary journey across the African continent, featuring vibrant dishes from Ghana, Morocco, and Ethiopia. With everything made fresh in-house, guests can expect rich flavours, lively conversation, and a warm, communal atmosphere that truly celebrates the joy of shared dining.
