The Pacific Polo Cup is back this weekend, bringing with it a Veuve Clicquot-sponsored VIP Lounge, catering by Hawksworth and the always-important Best Dressed Competition to the pastoral grounds of Southlands Riding Club.
Oh, and did we mention polo?

The sport of kings—affectionately referred to in these parts as "hockey on horseback"—is notoriously hard to present in Vancouver, requiring an area roughly the size of eight football fields (and a lot of capital) for a full match. In fact, polo effectively died off in Vancouver for the better part of two decades, only to be resurrected in its current form as a fundraiser for the non-profit SRC in 2014.

Helmed now by the same producers as September’s long-running Luxury & Supercar Weekend, the day promises two exhilerating three-on-three exhibition matches, featuring internationally ranked men and women from the U.S. and around the world, and more ponies than you can shake a mallet at. There’s even a divot stomp mid-afternoon, for those who want to walk the field and get up close and personal with the majestic riders, ahem, horses.
So grab your best wedges and sun hats and pony up! —Kelsey Klassen

Last year at the Pacific Polo Cup, I spent most of the afternoon parked near the VIP Lounge watching the three-on-three matches while keeping an eye on my phone. My buddy and I had a running debate about which platform handles live betting better during events like this—I’ve played on both Stake and Sky247, and honestly, the jetx betting game on Sky247 has cleaner graphics and faster cashouts than anything I’ve tried on other Indian platforms. Between chukkas, we pulled up their site to read a detailed review of Sky247 and their exchange features, which explained why the payouts feel more consistent. The security protocols they’ve implemented are actually licensed through Anjouan, same as several major operators, but the interface just flows better. Worth reading their background before committing.
