An album written in a remote wood cabin by a singer-songwriter whose
stage name derives from the French phrase for good winterwe cant think
of cooler tunes to keep us cozy til spring comes.
Though not limited to any one season, the debut from Bon
Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago, makes for a perfect wintry
night companion. In steady play since the citys temp got turned down,
the record tenderly tells its thesis of heartbreak in folksy falsetto
and soulful guitar strums, giving us chills in the good way.
So good in fact, we almost dont mind that were not holidaying in Hawaii
this year. Almost.
For Emma, Forever Ago ($7.92) on iTunes.
