Starbelly, a new upscale-casual dining spot, recently opened in the city’s deep-south neighbourhood of Seton.
The first restaurant of it’s kind in this rapidly growing area, south Calgarians are sure to be thrilled. The bright and airy space—complete with barn board and eclectic wooden accents—gives Starbelly that downtown-dining vibe while still nodding to its farm-country roots. Foodies will be impressed by the organic and locally sourced menu; we were thrilled by the massive and worldly wine list. A sure bet is brunch, with dishes like root beer french toast with brioche, autumn spiced sugar and berries, or the Monte Cristo served with ham hock, gruyere and egg.
It’s definitely worth the drive. —Sara Samson
