FILM FRENZY

October 17, 2007

Toronto may host Canadas biggest film festival but Montréal has dibs on the oldest (and edgiest!).

The Festival du Nouveau Cinéma is in full swing this week screening 300 features, docs, shorts and new media.

Well be first in line to see Todd Haynes Bob Dylan biopic Im Not There (October 21), Denys Arcands latest oeuvre The Age of Darkness (October 19) and Ice Cream, the directorial debut of Québec rocker Jean Leloup Leclerc (October 20).

And what would a festival be without parties? Theres one every night at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT) featuring DJs, live music and of course lots of cocktails.

All Festival Pass, $100. Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, until October 22., www.nouveaucinema.ca
