A TOUCH OF STYLE

October 23, 2007

Fans of Basia Polowskas eclectic Dupont Street boutique Basia, will love the paintings, pottery and mirrors hiding in the back room.

Much like the clothing she chooses, Polowska has handpicked homewares and art with a wonderful tactility to them. A selection of mirrors (from $110) from Kincardine is made from reclaimed tin ceilings while Louise Bousquets porcelain (from $24) is as smooth and white as milk.

Spotlighting all Canadian designers, the home décor section is continually evolving. Expect to see Polowskas own crystal chandelier designs in the store soon.

I choose things that I love, she says.

And with such good taste, its hard to go wrong.
