Just a short drive from the glitz and glamour of Gstaad, the charming
little Alpine town of Rougemont, Switzerland is the perfect winter
getaway.

Ski, sled, skate, trek, langlaufthere is no
shortage of winter activities in these parts. Try a Husky
tour
or cross country skiining in the the nearby village of Lauenen.

eat
Stock your mini bar with fresh milk and cheeses
from the local Laiterie and rise early to get first dibs on breads,
pastries and doughnuts from the Early
Beck
. Evenings are spent devouring cheese fondue and raclette at
Café Des Serf in the village.

The village of Saanen (less than a ten-minute
drive from Rougemont) is littered with lovely boutiques selling
traditional, handmade Swiss wares, chic ski attire, rustic antiques and
local culinary delights.

people watch
You cant visit Rougemont without taking
at least one peek into Gstaad (pictured). This ultra glam resort is home
to Valentino, Ursula Andress and Julie Andrews, to name a few. Melt into
one of the huge leather armchairs at the Palace
Hotel
and count the stars go by. If youre feeling up to it, head
down for a boogie at the ’70s themed nightclub, GreenGo.
