We first got a glimpse of the shaggy-haired, bandana-clad Matt
Mays and his band El Torpedo when they opened for Blue Rodeo a
handful of years ago.
Since then, the boys have come a long way, including Juno nominations
and a Late Night with Conan OBrien appearance.
But whats rock n roll without a little drama? The group recently
shuffled its line-up, replacing the drummer and bassist just in time for
a summer tour. Dropping the El Torpedo name, the revamped band plays
tonight at The Whiskey as part of the Stampede After Dark series.
